Event: Madagascar Live! at MBS

Our family had a really great blast at the Marina Bay Sands MasterCard Theatre yesterday evening! We went there to catch the opening of the Madagascar Live! Do you know that they will be in town from 21 to 24 April 2016 only?! Catch them before they fly to another country!

It's the opening of Madagascar Live!

We were waiting excitedly for the show to start!

We had watched all the three Madagascar movies countless time and yesterday night, we get to reminisce the children's favorite cartoon brought alive on stage through lively storytelling, dance and music! At first we didn't know what to expect, but we were treated to the whole of Madagascar Part One brought alive right in front of our eyes - we truly enjoyed the wild and action-packed adventures as Alex the lion, Melman the giraffe, Marty the zebra, Gloria the hippo and the plotting penguins as they escape from their home at New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an exciting unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar! From Marty's birthday surprise in the zoo in New York City, to the running away, to getting caught and transferred in crates on the ship to them falling off the ship and castaway to King Julien’s island, every scene is brought alive on stage! My personal favorite is the dramatic animals on subway scene!

Like the movie, the musical is a fun-filled celebration of friendship and good times, how even though Marty the Zebra, a herbivore and Alex the lion, a carnivores, are the best of friends and stand the test of friendship even though Alex may have eaten Marty because of his hunger! I like how this important message is reinforced live on stage so that it will have a bigger impact on the children.

The show is also a vivid showcase of imaginative sets and costumes, peppy dance numbers and spectacular new songs that kept us entertained from the beginning until the end! I was admiring the costumes of Marty, Alex, Gloria and Melman! It's so detailed, paddings were added for the extra curves or muscles and I wonder how the actor of Melman kept himself from falling at all!

Love how lively the show was, even love the costumes by the cast!

My boys are not the dancing with the music type, but they were kept glued throughout!

Words alone are simply not good enough to tell you how influencing the show is! I managed to capture and share with you the short excerpt of the "Move it! Move it!" song segment!

Wanna know how "high" the audiences were (both kids and adults) towards the end of the show?
