FairPrice Walks With U 2016!

Last year, we were looking forward to attend the FairPrice Walks with U 2015 which was supposed to be in Mar 2015, but it was cancelled as a Mark of Respect for Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

Last Sunday, we were so thrilled to participate in the FairPrice Walks with U 2016!

If you have not heard about it, FairPrice Walks with U is an annual non-competitive mass walk brought to us by NTUC Fairprice Co-operative Ltd. It aims to brings together families and members of the community from all walks of life and for maintaining a healthy lifestyle! At the same time, NTUC is taking the lead to show how we can give back to others, FairPrice Foundation pledged a $150 FairPrice voucher for every registered participant of this walk. This year, S$1.2 million worth of vouchers will go towards the FairPrice Food Voucher Scheme, which provides vouchers for needy families to purchase daily essentials through grassroots organisations of all 87 constituencies in Singapore!

From my understanding, the FairPrice Walk is always sold out rather quickly upon launched every year! It's because the per pax rate is only from a mere S$10/pax! And participants will receive the walking tee as well as a super generous goody bag!
Registration fees start from S$10 only!

The super generous goody bag is heavy and full of goodies!

So from only S$10 per pax, we get to keep the event tee and goodie bag, as well as participate in half a day's of family bonding fun, AND on top of that, money is raised and set aside by NTUC Foundation to help the needy! I can't think of any reason why the walk will not be sold out! So if you are keen, act super fast next year!

This year, the walk is held at Singapore Sports Hub. The trail started from around the national stadium and is shaded for a good 1km of the walk! Weather was also very kind! It was cloudy and not hot till after 10am!

It's the first time we had a multi-generations walk together!

Us at the starting point

My mum was super amazed by the generosity of the sponsors at the event!
Almost every booth was giving out free food, drinks and even some product samples!

Music and singing kept participants entertained during and after the walk, and while we are queuing for drinks and food!

Do look out for the event again next year and register early to join in this meaningful multi-generations walk!
