Event: Madagascar Live! at MBS

Our family had a really great blast at the Marina Bay SandsMasterCard Theatre yesterday evening! We went there to catch the opening of the Madagascar Live! Do you know that they will be in town from 21 to 24 April 2016 only?! Catch them before they fly to another country!

We had watched all the three Madagascar movies countless time and yesterday night, we get to reminisce the children's favorite cartoon brought alive on stage through lively storytelling, dance and music! At first we didn't know what to expect, but we were treated to the whole of Madagascar Part One brought alive right in front of our eyes - we truly enjoyed the wild and action-packed adventures as Alex the lion, Melman the giraffe, Marty the zebra, Gloria the hippo and the plotting penguins as they escape from their home at New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an exciting unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar! From Marty's birthday surprise in the zoo in New York…

Event: Shrek The Musical (Roar Like Shrek & Get a Free Child Ticket!)

This coming June School Holidays, bring your children to watch "Shrek The Musical", which will be playing at MasterCard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands for the first time ever, from 8 to 19 June 2016 only!

This live adaptation of the popular animation film Shrek brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favourite ogre to the stage. In a far away kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an ogre – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey that does not keep quiet, a villain with a short temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairytale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand and his name is Shrek!

Still not convinced if your family will enjoy Shrek the Musical? Just watch the excerpts of the musical below and I am sure you'll feel the same like we do! We wished we were right in the theatre to enjoy the Shrek Magic!

And I sharing a super compelling reason, wh…

Outing: Venus Loop Guided Walk By NUS Toddycats

Late November last year, I managed to sign up our family for a free guided walk at MacRitchie Forest organised by NUS Toddycats. They are a group of volunteers with the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, National University of Singapore.

The walk is very surreal for me and we learnt much during the guided tour. Do you know our Singapore forests are very well loved by Researchers and Scientists of the world? Not only it has everything to learn about rainforests - the different type of trees and plants, the forest stream with freshwater lives, the birds, the monkeys, the insects and the lizards etc (we encounter all of it in our two hours walk!). The best thing of our forest is we can get out of it within hours and have a cold drink from some shops across the road! Haha, in other countries once you enter the forest, it maybe days later before you can get out of it!

We went prepared for the walk, dressed in light colored tops, long pants and covered shoes, with a big bottle of kids f…

Learning through Play : Colours, Feelings and Motor Skills

While I had been homeschooling Big Brother last year more systematically, I am used to handling both my children on my own 24 by 7. This year Big Brother has upgraded into a mainstream school and when he is away, I can finally enjoy so many hours of "Mother & Little Brother" time! I find this period quite surreal, to be able to spend quality time alone with him!
Well, Little Brother is still a little too little for "education". ;p And I found the new freedom of having hours a day to do the household chores at my own pace and in peace~ I teach Little Brother more incidentally, as and when, like when we do the marketing together, counting steps as we walked etc.
I also found out that I can leave Little Brother with some papers and markers and he is able to do some doodling on his own quietly! Sometimes, we just have to let the little ones try on their own and let them amazed us huh?
So the other day i was going to fold the week's laundry, I gave Little Bro…

Drive away a Friso Powered Ride-on Car!

On a Saturday, in the beginning of April, our family had a super fun day doing something out of ordinary, thanks to Friso!

Our family went in full attendance early in the morning to gather at NTUC FairPrice at Kallang Wave Mall, to root for Big Brother, who is taking part his first ever car racing! It's also the first time ever to have a powered ride on car race right inside the mini race tracks in a supermarket! ;p

Just check out how beautiful and shiny the race cars are~! It's every child's dream to own a car like that!

After an impossible wait (impossible because the children couldn't wait for the race to start at all!), the race had finally started! Big Brother was the 4th group of participants to move off.

And guess what??

And Little Brother was so sad he couldn't get a ride as he was below the age limit for participating in the race! Fret not! I found out how EVERYONE of us who are keen, can bring home the same car to have fun at home too!!

So, are you ready t…
